LPG is the generic name for commercial propane and butane which are hydrocarbon products produced by the oil and gas industries. Commercial Propane predominantly consists of hydrocarbons containing three carbon atoms, mainly propane (C3H8).

The advantage for the caravanner or camper of propane over butane is that propane does not freeze in colder weather like butane and so is more suiting for going away in the winter when the colder weather prevails.
The 3.9kg bottle from Calor gas has a lift up carry handle and is a convienet size for campers.
